I’ll Type A Word

I’ll type a word,
Delete it soon after,
A sentence doesn’t stay,
Not for long
Not until it’s been gone.

Somehow my words form
Reorganize and rearrange
Into sentences and verses
The clicking of the keyboard
Goes on and on

I don’t recall writing that
Yet it’s embedded there,
Punctuation and Capitalization
Pretty black lines
In a white square.

My thoughts glisten on paper
Yet when I search my mind
I find nothing, nothing at all
I know they’re there,
But where?

What irony it is
To write about how I cannot
To watch my thumbs
As they press the spacebar
Over and over again.

My words could flow
My thoughts could rumble
My works could be
But without the right key,
It would all truly be in vain.
