An Indian Experience: Day 3

Day 3:

July 16, 2016

Street Schnitzel

Confusion. There were so many twists and turns in these streets. With not much planned for the day, I decided to tag along with my dada to learn the streets of the city near me. We were on a scooter, zooming past places that were being narrated to me by my dada, as we made our way through. At first, it all looked so easy and so clear, but as we got farther and farther from home, I noticed that there were more and more roads and alleys, and streets and shortcuts. Eventually, there was only confusion after a certain point. However, I knew many shops now, and could get nearly anything from one or another store.

Later in the day, I decided to visit our neighbors, the ones I had known for numerous years. In fact, I had witnessed the construction of the house there. There lives a girl in second grade, and a little boy in nursery. When I went over, the two of them, their mother, and their dadi, who also lived with them, greeted me. Because I had visited them only six months ago, they were surprised to see me back. That astonishment only grew when I told them the shocking news that I was planning to live in India now! Because the girl was in school, yet younger than me, I decided to help her with her math and English homework. To make studying fun for her, I told her that we would pretend that we were in school, and I was the teacher and she was the student. That way we would be playing and studying at the same time. I won’t say that it really worked though…

Only a few minutes after I came back home, my aunt decided to drop by our house. Although I was expecting her, I was also expecting my older cousin sister as well. I was disappointed when I was told that she had not come, as I had wanted to show her something…
