For My Dad

Do you remember those days,

When we were both younger?

When we used to

Get in the tub together

Fill it up with bubbles?

When I used to

Fall more, bruise more

And you would heal it?

When we used to

Lay in bed late morning

And mom pulled the covers off?

When we used to

Eat breakfast by

The sunny patio?

When we used to

Sit in the garage

Drinking tea, and milk?

When we used to

Play catch in the afternoon

By the garage?

When we used to

Talk for hours about

Absolutely nothing at all?

The past was glorious,

The present is beautiful.

And the future will be victorious

For both of us,

All because of you.
